Update Profiles via Excel Import

With the Excel import, you can update existing profiles in Lemontaps in bulk.

There are two types of imports:

  1. Update profiles (empty fields delete data)
  2. Update profiles (empty fields are ignored)

Both options are explained below:

1. Update Profiles (Empty Fields Delete Data)

With this option, empty cells in your file are interpreted as deletions.

This means:
If a field (e.g., position) is filled in an existing profile and you upload an Excel file where this field is empty, the existing value will be removed.

Best suited for:
When you export a complete profile list from Lemontaps, edit it, and then re-import it fully.

How it works:

  1. Export existing profiles from Lemontaps
    Go to: “User Profiles” → “Export” → “Excel”
    This downloads a file with all profile data.
  2. Edit the Excel file with your updates
  3. Upload the file again via:
    “User Profiles” → “Bulk Actions” →
    “Update profiles (empty fields delete data)”

  4. Map the columns to the corresponding profile fields
  5. Review the data and start the import

Important:

Only use this option if your file contains all desired data.
Empty fields will delete existing values.

 

 

2. Update Profiles (Empty Fields Are Ignored)

With this option, empty cells are ignored.

This means:
Existing values in profiles remain unchanged if the field is empty in your file.

Best suited for:
When you want to update or add data without removing any existing values.

How it works:

  1. Open the Excel importer via:
    “User Profiles” → “Bulk Actions” →
    “Update profiles (empty fields are ignored)”
  2. Create your Excel file
    • Either create a new file
    • Or use the template provided in the popup

    • Important: Each row must include the user’s email address. It is used as a unique identifier to match the data to the correct profiles in Lemontaps.

    • Fill in the columns with the information you want to update


3. Upload the Excel file in the popup

4. Map the columns to the corresponding profile fields

5. Review the data and start the import

Important: Empty fields will not overwrite existing data in this option.

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can’t I update account email addresses via Excel import?
Account email addresses cannot be updated in bulk because they are used as the unique identifier for the import process.
For this reason, the “Account Email” field is not included in the Excel template.
Any changes to account email addresses must be done manually.
