Using the Lemontaps App Offline

The Lemontaps app also works without an internet connection – ideal for trade shows or places with poor reception. Some features remain fully available, others require an internet connection, and a few are generally only available in the web version of Lemontaps. This applies equally to iOS and Android.

What works offline?

• Scan a business card, badge, or QR code
• Add a contact manually
• Import a contact from your phone's address book
• Edit a contact
• Record and save voice notes
• Display and share your offline QR code

Note: The offline QR code is a static version of your QR code. Unlike the regular (online) QR code, it does not update automatically when you change your profile data.

What doesn't work offline?

• Contact enrichment: Automatically completing contact data (e.g. email, phone number, company details) via AI enrichment requires an internet connection. This process cannot start without one.
• Preview or edit your own digital business card profile
• Export contacts to a CRM system
• Filter contacts
• Search contacts
• Import contacts from a CRM system
• Download a contact
• Delete a contact
• Send a follow-up email to a contact

These actions become available again as soon as the device is back online.

How do I know I'm offline?

The contacts overview shows that the app is in offline mode, along with how many entries are still waiting to sync.

What happens once the internet connection is back?

Once the device is back online, the following happens automatically:

1. Sync: All contacts scanned, manually added, or edited offline are transferred from the device to the Lemontaps server. Only then are they stored centrally – i.e. visible in the contacts overview on all of the user's devices.
2. Contact enrichment: Only after a successful sync does AI enrichment automatically start for contacts captured offline (see the article How Contact Enrichment Works with Lemontaps). Until then, these contacts remain stored with unenriched raw data (e.g. only name/company from a badge scan).

How do I see how many entries are still pending?

The contact list shows, while in offline mode, how many contacts/entries are still waiting to sync.
