Downloads Not Working in Safari on iPhone

If content from Lemontaps cannot be downloaded on an iPhone using Safari (e.g., app links, Apple Wallet passes, or files), this is usually caused by Safari settings, in-app browsers, or content blockers.

This guide helps you quickly identify and fix the issue.

1. Check if the Link Is Opened in Safari

In many cases, the Lemontaps link is not opened in the actual Safari browser, but in an in-app browser from apps like:

  • Outlook
  • Gmail
  • Microsoft Teams
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram
  • WhatsApp

These browsers often block downloads or Apple Wallet files.

Solution

Open the link directly in Safari:

  1. Tap “Share” on the page
  2. Select “Open in Safari
  3. Try the download again

2. Disable Content Blockers or Ad Blockers

Safari extensions or ad blockers can block download links or redirects.

Common examples:

  • AdGuard
  • 1Blocker
  • Ghostery

Solution

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Open Safari
  3. Tap Extensions
  4. Temporarily disable content blockers
  5. Try the download again

3. Safari Pop-up or Redirect Blocking

If downloads are triggered via redirects, Safari may block them.

Check

Go to: Settings → Safari

Temporarily disable:

  • Block Pop-ups

Then reload the page and try the download again.

4. Apple Wallet Download Not Working

Apple Wallet only supports .pkpass files.
If the download is not triggered correctly, nothing may happen.

Possible Solutions

  • Reload the page
  • Tap the download button again
  • Long-press the link and select “Download”

5. Safari Cache or Session Issue

A full cache or a broken session can prevent downloads.

Solution

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Open Safari
  3. Tap “Clear History and Website Data”

Then restart Safari and try again.

6. Company iPhone (MDM / Device Management)

If your iPhone is managed by a company, downloads or Wallet installations may be restricted.

Typical restrictions:

  • Wallet disabled
  • Downloads blocked
  • Browser limitations
