Customize Profile Fields
Profile fields are the fields where users can store their information in their profile – such as name, position, phone number, or internal details. These fields can be filled out by the user on their profile edit page (here) or managed centrally by admins in the management dashboard.
Profile Field Configuration Options
You can manage all profile fields centrally via the Contact Attribute Configurator (here). Admin rights are required for this.
Overview of Features:
Change Order via Drag-and-Drop
-
Simply drag and drop fields to the desired position.
- The order also determines how fields are displayed on the digital business card.
Note: Fields can only be moved within their respective business card section.
Moving fields between different sections is not possible (e.g., the name cannot be moved into the contact information section like email).

Delete Fields
-
Click the delete icon to remove a field.
-
The field will then:
- No longer be visible in the profile
- No longer be displayed on the digital business card
- You can re-add the field at any time using the “Add attribute” button.
Rename Fields
-
Click “Edit” to change the field label in any configured language.

-
You can manage your available languages in the translation settings.
Configure Selection Options for Fields
If you want users to choose from predefined options (e.g., a list of departments), you can configure this here.
- Click the edit icon on the field where you want to add options
- Scroll to “Dropdown options”
- Click “Add option” and define your values

-
Note: With the setting “Allow custom values”, users can add their own entries. If disabled, users can only select from the predefined list.

You can define how phone numbers are displayed consistently across profiles.
- Open a phone number field via “Edit”
- Scroll down to the “Phone number formatting” section and enable the feature
- Formatting Options
-
-
Automatic formatting:
Phone numbers are formatted according to the international E.164 standard. More information here.
-
The system automatically detects country, area code, and number structure.
-
Important: Automatic formatting only works if “Enforce country code” is enabled.
-
- Custom rule: Alternatively, you can define your own format:
-
Split numbers into blocks
- Define separators (e.g., spaces)
-
- Enforce country code:
- Automatically adds a “+” to the number
- Ensures correct interpretation of all numbers
-
Required for automatic formatting
-
Additional Configuration Options
Using the additional icons (eye and profile icon), you can control where a field is visible:
- Visible in the edit view but hidden on the digital business card (eye icon)
- Visible in editing but not shown on the business card (profile icon)
